In this area located in San Manuel, near Parral in the VII Region, along side the Peruelauquén river we have:
88 Hectares of European Hazelnuts (Corylus Avellana L.) planted in 2012, with 90% of the variety in the Tonda di Giffoni type, and the rest is Barcelona and Blanco. The density of the plants is 3 mt x 5 mt, giving a total of 666 plants per Hectare. The average production per hectare is 2500 kg.
We have projected a total of 150 hectares to be planted in total, by 2022, that would provide us with 375,000 kilos of inshell hazelnuts.
Our harvest is 50% mecanical and 50% manual. All the fruit passes through a washing system and handselection before moving on to the drying process.
The harvest starts in March and lasts until April. We can offer first shipments from May onwards.
